Privacy Policy

The short version
We collect the minimum we need to run AwardScope: your account details, your company profile, and your billing status. We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers. The opportunity data we show you is public government information; the private part is what you tell us about your business, and we treat it that way.
What we collect and why
- Account information. Your email address and a password, or your Google account identity if you sign in with Google. We use this to sign you in and to send you transactional email such as billing receipts and account notices.
- Organization profile. What you tell us about your business: description, capabilities, certifications, service area, and keywords. This exists so we can match and score opportunities against it. It is the core of the product.
- Billing information. Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and never touches our servers; we store only your subscription status and plan.
- Product usage and logs. Standard server logs plus product analytics: which pages you visit, which features you use, and session replays of how you use the app, collected through PostHog. Errors and crashes are reported to Sentry. We use this to debug problems, understand what is and is not working, and keep the service healthy. We do not use advertising trackers, and we never sell usage data.
- Correspondence. If you email us, we keep the thread so we can help you and remember the context next time.
Cookies: we use them to keep you signed in, remember product preferences, and support the product analytics described above. There are no advertising cookies.
How AI processing works
To generate fit scores and summaries, we send the text of an opportunity together with your organization profile to Anthropic, our AI provider, through its API. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, this data is not used to train its models. AI output is stored in your account so you do not pay to regenerate it.
Who else touches your data
We run on a small set of infrastructure providers, each of which processes data only to provide their service to us:
- Google Cloud / Firebase: hosting, authentication, and our database. All data is stored in the United States.
- Stripe: payment processing and subscription management.
- Anthropic: AI scoring and summaries, as described above.
- Algolia: search indexing of opportunity listings. Your organization profile is not part of the search index.
- PostHog: product analytics and session replay, so we can see how the product is used and where people get stuck.
- Sentry: error and crash reporting, so we can find and fix bugs.
Beyond these providers, we disclose personal information only if the law requires it, to investigate abuse of the service, or in aggregate form that does not identify you or your organization. We do not sell personal information, and we never have.
How we secure your data
All traffic to AwardScope is encrypted in transit with TLS, and data is encrypted at rest on Google Cloud. Access to production data is limited to what is needed to operate and support the service.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. If you cancel, your organization data stays available in case you come back, until you ask us to delete it. To delete your account and data, email hello@awardscope.ai from your account email; we will delete your personal and organization data from production systems within 30 days, and from backups within 90 days. Records we are legally required to keep, such as invoices, are retained as required.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Email hello@awardscope.ai and we will handle it. If you are in a jurisdiction with a supervisory authority, you also have the right to complain to it, though we would appreciate the chance to fix things first.
Where data lives
AwardScope operates from the United States and stores data there. If you use the service from outside the US, you are transferring your information to the US, where privacy laws may differ from those of your country.
Children
AwardScope is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes and questions
If we make a material change to this policy, we will notify account owners by email or an in-app notice before it takes effect. Questions or requests: hello@awardscope.ai. A human reads it.
